Group CEO

Kamrul brings 20 years of expertise in dredging, reclamation, marine construction, and shipbuilding.

Kamrul’s experience includes transforming a small chartering company into one of the top 10 dredging companies globally. He spearheaded the international expansion into new markets in Asia and the Middle East, focusing on talent development and the implementation of systems and processes to enhance efficiency.

Kamrul’s legacy includes the establishment of a new shipyard and the construction of various dredgers, including the 3rd largest jumbo Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) in the world and the largest in Asia. He is celebrated for achieving a milestone of 1 million Lost Time Injury (LTI)-free hours, underscoring his commitment to safety.

Sara Mohamed
Executive Director

Sara stands as one of the distinguished few female leaders in Malaysia’s dredging industry, with over two decades of extensive industry experience. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in various aspects of organisational and strategic management.

Her role in managing government relations has significantly contributed to the advancement of the dredging industry in Malaysia.

Sara has successfully led high-performing teams, cultivating a culture of excellence and accountability.

Akhyar Sidal
Chief Strategy Officer (CSO)

Akhyar Sidal began his distinguished professional journey as a surveyor in Singapore, where he honed his technical skills and gained valuable industry insights. After this formative experience, he returned to Malaysia, taking on pivotal roles within the local dredging sector. His expertise and commercial capabilities significantly contributed to the advancement of various high-profile dredging projects.
Currently, Akhyar serves as the Chief Strategy Officer at DredgeTech Marine, where he plays a crucial role in steering the company’s strategic direction. Leveraging his comprehensive knowledge of the dredging industry he oversees the company’s contracts and administration, ensuring seamless operational efficiency and compliance. Additionally, Akhyar is instrumental in driving international business development, identifying and capitalising on global market opportunities to foster the company’s growth strategies.

Rajesh Parmer
Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)

Rajesh is responsible for managing project tenders and proposals, ensuring that each project is approached with innovative solutions and methodologies tailored to its unique requirements. His expertise in cost optimisation and value delivery has made him a respected figure in the dredging industry. Rajesh ensures that the latest dredging innovations are incorporated into project proposals, providing competitive pricing and value to clients.

His philosophy is aligned with DredgeTech Marine’s ethos which centre’s on a client-first approach, where understanding client needs and providing tailored, innovative solutions are paramount.

Johannes Smout
Senior Advisor

Johannes is a seasoned expert in the global dredging industry with extensive experience encompassing technical operations, project management and high-level commercial roles, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.

Throughout his career, Johannes has demonstrated exceptional skills in contract management and strategic project planning, contributing to the successful execution of numerous high-profile dredging projects worldwide.

Peter Alex
Project Director

Peter’s career has evolved from hands-on technical roles to high-level project management. His comprehensive expertise in dredging operations and exceptional project management skills have led to the successful and efficient completion of numerous dredging and reclamation projects worldwide. Currently, as the Project Director at DredgeTech Marine, Peter oversees all dredging and reclamation activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

His focus on timely project completion and operational efficiency has been a hallmark of his career.

Iskandar Bin Junaidi
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Iskandar has over 15 years of extensive experience in the financial management of dredging companies. His strategic focus ensures that clients receive value-driven pricing, aligning financial performance with client satisfaction and project success.

Iskandar oversee’s the financial operations and implementing rigorous financial controls and monitoring mechanisms to enhance cost-efficiency and value delivery to clients.
